How to make a heater with a candle and a terracotta pot
Did you know you can make a heater with a terracotta pot and a candle? I definitely did not, but it must be popular for there to be so many videos out there about it. I wanted to try it for myself, and it didn’t work as well as I expected. Here is how I made mine.
What you’ll need
A terracotta pot and base.
A candle. Most people use tealights, but I just used what I already had. It happened to be an old tester candle.
Something to elevate the pot a little bit. I’ve seen someone use tealight containers. I found some scrap pieces of wood in the garage.
You probably don’t need the hot pad. I was just being overly cautious in case the bottom of the pot got too warm.
But does it work?
A tiny bit. I was comfortable sitting next to while it was burning, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say it heated the room. Maybe I did it wrong? Have you made one before? Tell me how yours went! Comment below.
