How to boost your mood for free

Need a pick-me-up?

Seeing cute things releases dopamine and serotonin. So seeing cute things relieves stress and boosts your mood.

When you look at something cute, your brain gets a rush of serotonin and dopamine. But that does more than just make you happy. It fires up the part of the brain involved in memory and emotions. The orbitofrontal cortex. The dopamine triggers your memories of whatever you’re looking at and the joy of that memory. It creates a sense of calmness and focus that lasts a while. It’s a domino effect effect of hormones, happy memory, then a lasting effect.

So it’s more than common sense that cute things make us happy. It is literally a scientifically proven pick-me-up. Hopefully this helps when you’re extra stressed.

If you want to test this out on the candle in the picture, you can purchase it here.
